Local Arts Spotlight

Write for us

Local Arts Spotlight welcomes considered pitches about visual art, creative practice and the ways art meets local places. Send proposals through the Contact page; a concise, specific idea is more useful than a finished article sent without discussion.

What we welcome

Pitch explanatory pieces, close looks at materials or display, thoughtful histories, and accounts of how public art changes the experience of a place. Ideas should work for general readers and offer a clear angle beyond promotion or event listing.

Make the pitch specific

Tell us the subject, the question the piece will answer, why it suits Local Arts Spotlight and what sources or visual details could support it. Include a brief outline and a note about any relevant interests or relationships that readers should know about.

Before sending

Proposals are sent through the Contact page. Please do not assume a pitch has been accepted until there is an explicit agreement; publication terms and any requested edits can be discussed if we take the idea forward.

Our point of view

Art belongs in the conversation about place.

We look at how images, objects and creative choices shape the way a place feels and what its people notice.
